Shawn Mabey
Shawn was first exposed to the wonders of the internet in 1994 and from that first exposure was taken by the world of possibilities it presented. This prompted Shawn to enter the field of multi-media with a focus on the way people connect, communicate, learn, and entertain.
Those early days of the web were quite primitive and all these years later it is still an evolving, ever-changing landscape. Shawn now has 17 years professional experience in Interaction Design, User Experience, Usability, and Information Architecture.

His leadership of media projects has resulted in user interfaces that achieve uncompromising usability, and projects that are on time and on budget.
Shawn uses his education, employment, teaching and consulting experience
to successfully synchronize the business, creative, and strategic aspects of user experience design, to the benefit of the user and the sponsor.

Technical Communication

Kari MacDonald
Kari’s path to a career in technical communication was an evolving one. She started with a degree in chemistry and 5 years of laboratory work experience in the pulp and paper industry. Next she earned a degree in education, and spent a few years working in that field. In between she spent a year travelling through South and South East Asia, and Australia. Combining her two fields of study lead Kari to a natural progression in the breaking field of technical communication.

Kari is now a Senior Technical Writer recognized for her expertise in analyzing, organizing, and clearly defining technical information while paying particular attention to consistency and accuracy.  She  has 10 years experience specializing in writing, editing, and managing the development of training materials, manuals, and procedures for industrial process operations including oil and gas, pulp and paper, mining, water treatment, and manufacturing.

Skilled at interpreting engineering information and clearly conveying challenging technical concepts, Kari is an energetic self-starter with a strong technical background and exceptional interpersonal skills. She joined Fluid Perception Media in 2010.
